Antique Persian Serab Extra Long Rug | 8'10" X 17'10"
Description
Approximately 70 years old, this one-of-a-kind antique Persian Serab rug is skillfully hand-knotted on a cotton foundation and features a tall, lustrous pile of premium camel hair. The use of camel hair, along with the intentionally unadorned outer border, is characteristic of the beautifully tribal Serab style.
Thanks to the exceptionally high knot density, these semi-nomadic weavers were able to create intricate micro motifs rarely seen in coarser rugs. Among the charming details are small tribal paisleys (boteh), delicate crosses, and fine floral designs woven seamlessly throughout the field.
This rug remains in excellent antique condition, with a soft, resilient, and luminous wool pile. It shows a few expertly executed restorations—please inspect all photos for details. Appraisals are available upon request. Each of our rugs is authentic and personally hand-selected by Nedim himself.
