Vintage Sumak Rug | 5'6" x 9'3"

This one-of-a-kind handwoven Sumak rug is flat-woven with no pile. Sumak rugs, also spelled Soumak, are thicker and sturdier than Kilims. They are not reversible, as the yarns are left uncut on the back. This piece features an all-over lattice of navy geometric motifs with small red S-shaped and stylized bird motifs on a deep burgundy brown ground. A wide red border with bold black hooked motifs, set between navy meander bands and fine ivory dotted stripes, frames the design, and both ends finish in bands of red and navy tufts.

This rug is perfect for adding warmth and character to a living room, dining room, or bedroom. All of our rugs are authentic and handpicked by Nedim himself.

Flat-woven and sturdy. Not reversible. We suggest using a rug mat underneath.
